In the last 3 years, the number of residents in the District of Aarau has changed by 4.44%, to 83’873 people.

Demographic data

The 74’435 CHF. 20.49% of the population hold a university degree, 17.98% have a higher vocational education qualification, 42.05% of the population have a school-leaving certificate or finished a vocational apprenticeship and 19.48% of residents are enrolled in compulsory schooling.
